Marriott Vacation Club to invest 2.5 million euros on Son Antem East course
As part of the resort improvement strategy, a full renovation of the East course irrigation system will commence on November 1st, 2022, for a duration of 4 months. The East course will remain closed during that time. The system supplied by TORO is state-of-the art and will improve the distribution of water, providing higher uniformity and efficiency to the watering process resulting in a significant reduction in consumption. The surface area of the course under irrigation will also be reduced to make the course more sustainable. This will lower our CO2 emissions and return the course to its natural state, integrated in the original landscape to reduce the impact on the environment, whilst maintaining the essence and playability of the East course. During the renovation process all our guests will be welcome to play in the West golf course, which will remain fully operational.
1994-2019: 25 years being part of your memories
December 29th 2018 - During 2019 we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Son Antem golf. The East course was inaugurated on May 1st 1994, and still today we celebrate it, year after year, with our Anniversary tournament, one of the most popular event on the Mallorcan golf calendar.
Investment plan is ongoing at Marriott Golf Son Antem
In summer 2017 the West course will be closed to proceed with the change of grass on the greens. A turf variety with higher tolerance to warm climate and disease has been selected to provide a putting surface that is more uniform and homogeneous.
Works will be done from June 5th till August 31st. During this period the actual turf layer will be removed, the soil will be treated with herbicide and Agrostis Stolonifera sods will be placed.
These works, along with the Osmosis plant installed last summer which is fully operational, will support the continued repositioning of Son Antem golf to a preferred position amongst the golf clubs on the island of Mallorca.
